This is such a brilliant book to read if you have a child between 7-12. Big changes at what is referred to the 9 year old crossing. So interesting and so reassuring, that I am re-reading this gem.
The other day I decided to disable my Facebook page. I had thought about doing this for such a long time, but I always thought I needed it for updates for things in life. In the end I figured I don't, Facebook is incredibly negative and it definitely brings out negative me.
Coloured popping corn. First year growing this type of corn and these two darker cobs have been my best yet. Still a few more to harvest but it's such a waiting game, as you have to wait till the plant goes brown and dying off. Then you hang to dry till the kernels are hard. Then to pop.
Went to the Martinbourgh Fair yesterday and although there were so many beautiful crafts and homemade items, my big purchase was this Arthurwood jug. I fell in love as soon as I saw it. There were so many beautiful antiques at the fair, I could have spent up large at this particular stall.
Chamomile flowers picked today, it doesn't look like much but I have harvested so many flowers from my two Chamomile plants. Collecting and drying to make l infused oil for balms.
Weekend away
Weekend away.
The secret to have beautiful fluffy hot cross Buns is to make sure they have a enough time to proove. I wanted some hot cross buns for this morning , but didn't want to get up super early to put the dough on. Last night I popped a dough mix on after dinner in the bread maker, once the dough was ready I shaped and put in the fridge over night. This morning I pulled them out, popped them in a warm place until they had puffed up (risen) and then cooked them. Best Hot Cross Buns this year.
Roadside view of a rising full moon on my Birthday, how lucky is that.
When we visit Napier, we have to visit Anderson Park. Mostly because of the scary slide, but this swing is good too.
